Acceptance to any university on the HEI list guarantees scholarship

A decision taken by the Executive Committee of the Supreme Education Council guarantees that Qatari students who gain acceptance to any college or university on the Higher Education Institute (HEI) list will automatically receive a scholarship. Mr. Mohammed Saleh Al Mannai, the Acting director of the HEI said, “students who get acceptance from any of the institutions recognized by the HEI automatically receive a scholarship to study.”

The Executive Committee of the Supreme Education Council has reached a decision to do away with all the selection requirements for obtaining scholarships from the Higher Education Institute. Mr. Mohammed Saleh Al Mannai said, “students who get acceptance from any of the institutions recognized by the HEI automatically receive a scholarship to study.”

Mannai confirmed that the preparation and issuance of universities lists was linked to the labor market. “The HEI is now preparing a list of “specializations,” which aligns with Qatar’s labor market needs. The list includes, for example, the aviation study, which is currently not available on the list. The college and university list is under constant review and is updated to ensure Qatar scholarship recipients are placed in high quality institutions.”

Al Mannai confirmed that Arab universities are available in such programs as graduate studies in faculties of law, Arabic language and Islamic Studies. “The HEI offers students scholarship to study and specialize in universities such as Cairo University, Al-Azhar, Ain Shams, and Alexandria as well as in some Arab universities in Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
