The Education Institute provides training to help prospective Independent School operators design their schools and write their contracts, which specify the school’s goals, standards, educational design, governance and operations. After contracts are written and submitted, the Institute will evaluate them and recommend them to the Supreme Education Council for final approval.

The Education Institute’s oversight role is primarily supportive, as stated above. This means helping schools to identify any need for improvement and to address shortcomings early and effectively. Independent Schools will be required to produce an Annual Report demonstrating that they are meeting their goals, as outlined in their contract with the Education Institute. The school’s finance management will also be monitored closely by the Education Institute through periodic reports, as well as through an annual, comprehensive audit by an external auditor.
