How does the Qatar Comprehensive Educational Assessment differ from the other tests that students currently take?

The Qatar Comprehensive Educational Assessment is unique and differs in significant ways from the national exit exam and other tests currently administered in Qatar. The Assessment is a set of tests that will be given nationally every year at every grade level, with content that is aligned with the new curriculum standards in Arabic, English, mathematics and science. The same tests will be given to all students in a particular grade and administered to all students under the same conditions, allowing meaningful comparisons across schools.
Scores will be used to monitor the progress of Qatar’s educational reform initiative and to assess students’ levels of proficiency in Arabic, English, mathematics and science against international benchmarks.
