Certificates issued by the State of Qatar are internationally accredited. This year, arrangements were made between the Supreme Education Council (SEC), the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to accredit the certificates of three secondary schools.

In this regard, the education institute assured that all independent schools are government, and as government schools, their certifications are accredited by the SEC.

“Independent schools certificates are issued by the government financed schools under the supervision of the education institute, this means that the certificates are accredited by the state of Qatar and all certificates and students records are saved in a state of the art database with MoE school records, they are all accredited by the examination department at the MOE. No evaluation or equation test is to be conducted for IS certificates” noted by Mohammed Al-Ansari , director of the Curriculum Standards office.

The procedure for Independent School Certification:

  • Students transition to a MoE school: parents should produce all IS certificates to the MoE examination department to investigate about student age and eligibility for free education in the state of Qatar according to MOE regulations.
  • International certificate accreditation, the IS certificates have the same power of MoE certificates and adhere to the same rules and regulations as the MoE schools, and is under the supervision of the education and evaluation institutes.

During its first year, the education institute assured Parents that secondary schools will implement reform gradually and will follow the same curriculum and test system according to MOE rules and regulation. This will apply for 4 secondary schools this year: Amna bint Wahab Girls Secondary School , Al-Resala Girls Secondary School, Al-Wakra Boys Secondary School, and Al-Doha Boys Secondary School.
