150 teachers graduate from the British Council
At least 150 teachers will receive the Academic Language Support Programme (ALP) certificates after successfully completing the three phases of the programme, which is designed to improve the capacity for maths and science teachers in independent schools to teach their subjects in the English medium

Type: Press ReleaseDate: 18 June 2009 The SEC announces results of the Qatar Senior School Certificate The Evaluation Institute of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) announced the results of the Qatar Senior School Certificate (QSSC) administered to 12 grade students in the Independent Schools at a press conference held on Monday, June 15, 2009. HE Saad Bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of SEC attested the results of the 2323 students from 14 schools that participated in the exit exams. The results have been posted on the SEC website in addition to sending SMS’ to parents and students.

The Education Excellence Day Committee will begin receiving nominations for excellence awards from July until September 17, 2009. Many schools, teachers and students participated in the introductory meeting held at the Four Seasons, Doha to discuss the requirements of the event. Selection for the best candidates will begin in mid October and winners will be awarded on November 11, 2009.
