The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) has announced that all students applying for entry to CCQ will receive notification of their status by SMS during the week starting July 18, 2010. The first three hundred full-time students will receive invitations by SMS and email to register for the fall semester. CCQ students will be required to submit an original Qatar ID, official high school diploma/certificate and a health certificate to the Information Center, first floor, SEC building, Al Dafna to begin their registration process.

The Advising & Career Development Office of the Higher Education Institute (HEI) has published the Student’s Advising Guide to HEI Scholarship Programs and Services aimed at familiarizing students with the different scholarship programs and the institute’s services.

HE Mr. Saad Bin Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud, Minister of Education today inaugurated the Annual Open House at the Four seasons Hotel today, June 14, 2010. The open house targets Qatari high school students in grades 10, 11 and 12 in all secondary schools who wish to learn more about application processes, scholarship programs and courses on offer in other universities in Qatar and abroad.

The Higher Education institute (HEI) will hold its annual Open House on June 14th & 15th, 2010 in Al-Mirqab Hall at the Four Seasons Hotel. The Open House aims to inform students and their parents about the different scholarship programs and the procedures for applying for higher education scholarships.

The Higher Education Institute recently hosted an awareness workshop for secondary school counselors that was organized simultaneously with the SEC's announcement of the opening of the Community College of Qatar in the academic year 2010-2011, to update them on the recent developments that the project has been witnessing.

An official source at the Higher Education Institute (HEI) of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) revealed that eight Russell group universities have been selected for study in the foundation year. This decision came to assist students familiarize themselves with the new strict education system in the UK and facilitate their transition to join the undergraduate (bachelors) programs.

The Japanese Embassy has invited applications from Qatari undergraduate, postgraduate and research students for scholarships for various courses offered by universities in Japan. The announcement was made at a press briefing held jointly by the Supreme Education Council’s Higher Education Institute (HEI) and the Japanese Embassy officials on Thursday, April 22, 2010.

The Higher Education Institute (HEI) of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) in close cooperation and coordination with the Japanese Embassy in Doha organized an instructive meeting aimed of at briefing counselors and staff from the HEI on the opportunities and the many options offered by the Republic of Japan in undergraduate and postgraduate studies and explained the application process.

The Gulf Cooperation Council committee for certificates equivalency held its 13th periodical meeting on March 23, 2010 at Al Sharq Resort where issues related to equivalence of such certificates as diplomas; bachelors and doctorate degrees were discussed.
