Type: Press Release Date: 24 February 2010 HE Mr. Saad Bin Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council headed high official educational delegation comprising HE Mr. Mohammed bin Rabia Al Kaabi and a number of experts and consultants to participate in the third session of the World Education Forum and Exhibition of Educational Facilities being held in Dubai from February 23 - 25, 2010. The meeting includes a number of Ministers of Education in the Gulf and Arab countries and a group of education experts and major technology companies and institutes of global education. HE the minister will also participate in a ministerial symposium held on the sidelines of the forum which represents one of the most important meetings of Ministers of Education of Member States of the Arab Office of Education for the Gulf. Discussions will focus around issues related to the development of secondary education, in particular, the issue of bridging the gap between public education and higher education and the development of secondary education in Member States. The World Education Forum comprises an integrated set of meetings and workshops that seek to find solutions to education in the Gulf region. The Forum will address prominent academic topics such as the integration of technology in different areas of education, preparing schools for the future, the requirements of special education including education for gifted children, as well as addressing the latest innovations in education, specifically the virtual environment as one of those creations. The 3-day Forum's agenda will cover 60 round sessions and workshops on using technology in the educational field in its various components and sector. Educators and leaders of global educational companies specializing in technology solutions will participate in the exhibition running parallel to the forum. The workshops and sessions cover such themes as technological advances and classroom interaction as well as a session on e-learning and its importance in raising the level of knowledge in the Arab world. In addition, there will be computer models with students, mental mapping, and working session on the verification of the suitability and efficiency of teachers for the use of technology-based education in the educational process. Other workshops focus on technology and support for school facilities and address the social factors that affect the process of online learning, and a session on the development of the teaching of science through interactive blogs in addition to the meeting include the impact of technology on the process of interaction within the classroom and the other on e-learning. |
