42 high achieving Gulf students receive regional awards |

Type: Press Release Date: 16 March 2010 Forty-two primary, preparatory and secondary school students from Gulf member states were honored at the 4th Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States celebration held at Grand Regency Hotel in Doha on Monday, March 15, 2010. The event was jointly organized by the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States and the Supreme Education Council (SEC) and was sponsored by Al Marai company.In his speech, HE Saad bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, the Minister of Education and Higher Education and the Secretary General of the SEC congratulated the students. Mr. Ali Al Qurani, the director of the Bureau and Mr. Abdul Rahman Al Muhana from Al Marai also gave speeches. Al Wajba Independent Girls School presented a musical entitled the light journey showing 7 stages through which education evolved in Qatar. Six students from Qatar were honored including: Saqr Bin Shabat Al Murekhei from Al Shahaniya Model Independent School for Boys, Asmaa Al Ma’adeed from Khadija Primary Independent School for Girls, Mohammed Abu Al Ainein from Al-Yarmouk Preparatory Independent School for Boys, Fatima Al Ma’adeed from Ruqayya Preparatory Independent School for Girls, Faisal Abdul Rahman from Omar bin Al-Khattab Educational Complex for Boys and Dua’a Masoud from Al-Bayan Educational Complex for Girls. Six students (two from each stage (primary, prep, secondary) from each of the member gulf state received awards as well. Each student received financial rewards in addition to a certificate of achievement and a commemorative souvenir. The Arab Bureau of Education For The Gulf States in collaboration with Education Ministries in member states organized the ceremony.A small exhibition was held along side the event where products of two main sponsors were displayed. The SEC displayed its publications and brochures and other educational publications. |
