Following the transformation of all state schools to independent status, the Supreme Education Council (SEC) has decided to utilize the services of professional recruitment agencies to find competent teachers in order to provide school operators with alternatives to help them meet the requirements for qualified personnel in the independent schools. The SEC will oversee the hiring process of teachers in rare disciplines like physics, chemistry and biology to ensure they meet the rules and regulations set by the SEC.
With this option, the SEC is assured that operators will have the opportunity to select the best educational option from the local market or through these companies which are committed to provide skilled, qualified and professional teachers from Arab and foreign countries. Selection through the companies will ensure professional and the best application of the internationally benchmarked curriculum standards. The SEC’s Shared Services Department Manager said the decision to contract with these companies followed thorough studies that would ensure the best educational outcomes and maintain the SEC standards. Conditions for teacher selection include: o Should hold teaching positions and have at least five years experience in an educational corporation in respective their countries. ο Should succeed in the probation period. o Should obtain a teaching license in the first year of the contract in accordance with the rules and regulations set by the Evaluation Institute of the SEC. o In case of false documentation or details, the recruitment companies shall bear the expenses for providing replacements. The Shared Services Manager has confirmed that the SEC has taken precautionary measures to ensure there are no breaches in contracts and applicants may be asked to work under particular criteria under the supervision of the SEC. In addition, the companies will compete to provide the qualified female and male teachers who are committed to obtain the teachers professional licenses within the first year. The SEC believes in the critical role teachers’ play in the development of education and the graduation of qualified students who would be able to compete among their peers from around the world. The new plan aims to provide teachers before the beginning of the next academic year. Companies will publish their announcement in early April and May every year and provide the operators with the list of names to select from. This will reduce previous recruitment efforts of travelling abroad to look for teachers who are excluded in the selection operations in their own countries. |
