The Education Institute of the Supreme Education Council has issued a circular to all the independent schools’ operators about the automatic registration of students in grades six and nine in specific schools. According to the plan, primary and preparatory schools have been assigned to receive students from specific schools in grades six and nine respectively.
This procedure will begin from May 9 to13, 2010. Students will automatically be registered be in schools near their homes upon approval from their parents but the parents are allowed to transfer their children to other schools f their choice (if there is vacancy) if they are not happy with the allocation. Schools will send letters to parents to inform them about the registration of their children in new schools. Parents will be informed about the name of the school where the child has been registered for the next academic year according to the distribution accredited policy forms. Concerned schools will transfer the students’ files to the new schools accompanied by official letters. Parents may report to the schools in case the new schools do not suit their children in terms of location. In this case, parents may report to the school they belong to in terms of geographical distribution on the same day to register their children if there is vacancy. Concerning students who are not interested in the new schools, parents may report to the schools they like to register their children in the period specified for registration of this category, and according to the availability of seats. The SEC has announced last week a set of procedures to facilitate registration policy for parents and ensure transparency and equality of students in obtaining the opportunities. The registration operation included three stages; early registration, new comers registration, and siblings registration. The SEC will announce each stage procedures and urges parents to read the instructions thoroughly and abide by the rules. On the other hand, school officials will send letters to them including the same. |
