Education minister meets Chinese delegation

H.E. Saad bin Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council met a Chinese delegation chaired by Mr. Xu Yongji, Deputy Director of Cooperation and International Exchange. The Chinese Ambassador to the State of Qatar, Mr. Yue Xiaoyoung attended the meeting held in the Education minister’s office on May 9, 2010.

The meeting discussed a number of mutual educational issues as well as ways of enhancing and strengthening relations between the Supreme Education Council and the Chinese Ministry of Education. The visitors praised the educational system adopted by the State of Qatar as well as the leadership’s interest in providing quality education and the opening the Education City, which includes a number of renowned universities. The Chinese delegation expressed interest learning about the Qatari experience.

The delegation also expressed particular interest in the learning of the Arabic and Chinese languages, exchange of university scholarships and the opening of outstanding schools.
