The SEC registration committee held an orientation meeting for SEC staff working as registration supervisors at the independent schools from May 30, 2010. The meeting took place at the SEC building in Dafna area on May 17, 2010.

In his speech, Mr. Khalid Al-Harqan, assistant director at the Education Institute said that the registration had been divided into different stages to help facilitate the registration process. A committee had been formed to facilitate the procedures and allow each child to have a place in the school of their choice. He urged the supervisors to fulfill their duties in the best manner possible and cooperate with parents and school operators in order to achieve success.

The Education Institute recently announced the new registration policy, which divides the process into three stages. The first stage involves the registration of siblings in the same school, the second stage is the early electronic registration of students in nearby schools while the third stage is allocated to new comers and the vacant seats.

The SEC Information Technology Department will provide training in the schools on the electronic registration program to ensure its efficiency. Coordinators from SEC will be available in the registration centers to supervise the registration of the new comers only and to ensure proper application of the rules and regulations. Coordinators will check for vacant seats and check posting of students’ data every day. Coordinators will also communicate between the school and the SEC.

The schools will provide employees whatever is required to fulfill the registration procedures provided that they are experienced in the data entry. Schools are also obliged to place posters at a visible location indicating the name of the school, the name of the operator, the location, the required documents, and the working hours.
Registration Centers will be open to the public in the evenings from (4 - 8 pm).
