Open house for Qatari secondary students on June 14

Dear Parents & High School Students,
The Higher Education institute (HEI) will hold its annual Open House on June 14th & 15th, 2010 in Al-Mirqab Hall at the Four Seasons Hotel. The Open House aims to inform students and their parents about the different scholarship programs and the procedures for applying for higher education scholarships. Students will also be able to meet with officials of various colleges and universities – including those in Education City, some British universities, and the new Community College of Qatar – to learn about their programs, course offerings, qualifications, and application process.

The annual Open House also provides students and parents the opportunity to meet with officials from the HEI and other experts to get career guidance, learn more about the HEI’s advising services and get answers to questions about the various scholarship programs provided by the Higher Education Institute. Students will also learn more about preparing a college application and essay, and what tests are required for admissions. In addition to talking with higher education institutions in Qatar, some universities and/or embassy officials will conduct presentations about higher education systems in different countries and their respective application processes. These presentations are aimed at 10th and 11th graders who are in the process of thinking about their postsecondary education choices.

In addition, different presentations will be held about higher education systems and how to live & study in different countries and apply for their students’ visas.
