"What you see today represents only a small part of the achievements of our students. They still have a lot to offer and we hope you will join us in praising their work and discussing their researches and your valuable input and observations will enrich their perceptions and develop their skills," said Ms. Sabah Al Haidoos, director of the Education Institute of the SEC. "We are aware that human development is the real investment. We acknowledge the importance of scientific research as the main ingredient for the future projects of Qatar. We seek through the development of education to produce outputs that produce skilled citizens with higher mental capabilities, able to conduct researches and have the ability to make our country one of the main exporters of knowledge." The best three researches were selected from two categories – science and humanities – in both stage levels. Amna Bint Wahab Preparatory Independent School for Girls took first places with the best researches in the science category and humanities which they shared with Al Aqsa Preparatory Independent School for Girls. Khalid Bin Al Waleed Preparatory Independent School for Boys came in second place with a prize in the science category and two in the humanities category. Al Resala Secondary Independent School for Girls took the top spot for their humanities research on the psychological impact of breast cancer on patients. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Thani Secondary Independent School for Boys took first place in science category with their research focusing on the effects of additives in canned foods. Other winning schools are Abdulla bin Ali Al Misnad Secondary Independent School for Boys Mozah Bint Mohammed Preparatory School for Girls, Abu Baker Aseedeq Preparatory School for Boys (Scientific researches) and Al Doha Secondary School for Boys, Raba’a Al Adawiya Secondary School for Girls Abdulrahman Bin Jassim Preparatory School for Boys (Humanities researches) The SEC invited professional academic professors to participate in the screening and the selection process of selecting the winners who will receive financial rewards. |
