HE Mr. Saad Bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Education Council received in his office on Sunday, July 4, 2010, students who scored the highest marks in the Qatar Secondary Schools Certificate (QSSC)examinations and the 13 students who received the highest scores in Islamic education, Arabic, English and social sciences, mathematics, chemistry, physics and biology.

HE Al Mahmoud congratulated the students on their achievement and wished them well on their future academic and career path. He also met the operators of schools of the achieving students and told them that he depended on them for promoting the education system. Directors of Education, Evaluation and Higher Education institutes attended the meeting.

The operators discussed educational issues with the minister and requested that there be channel for communication, persistence, and a clear mechanism to discuss with the school administrators in all aspects of academic and administrative.

His Excellency said in his speech to school administrators, “We count on our leaders in the field to upgrade the educational process. You make half the equation and we are working together as partners in the decision-making to create the best possible mechanism to represent the school administrators,” said He Al Mahmoud.

Also attending the meeting were Mrs. Hessa Abdullah (Al-Bayan Educational Complex for Girls) and Mrs. Hessa Hamid Marwani (Amna Bint Wahab Secondary School for Girls) and Ms. Fawzia Ashkanani (Al Ieman Girls Secondary School) and Mr. Hassan Al Baker (Ahmad Bin Mohammad Al Thani Secondary Independent School for Boys) and Mr. Abdullah Al Nuaimi (Abdullah Bin Ali Al-Misnad Preparatory Secondary Independent School for Boys and Mr. Mohammed Al-Marri (Doha Independent Secondary School for Boys). 

The top achieving students are:

  4.  Khalid Yasser Mohammed Jabor Al Muslim - Omar Bin Al Khattab Scientific Secondary Independent School for Boys (English) 
  5. Haya Rashid Mansour Rashid Al Borshid – Al Ieman Independent Secondary School for Girls (English)
