HE Mr. Saad Bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education and the Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) has approved the results of the Qatar General Secondary Certificate, today, Wednesday, July 7, 2010 conducted in the semi independent and specialized schools.
The results of the art and scientific schools, semi-independent, specialized, religious and business schools will be issued on Thursday, July 8, 2010. The SEC is scheduled to announce the results through its website, in addition to sending text messages to all the parents. The complete list of the numbers of students that sat for the exam, their scores and the names of the top students will be dissemenated to the local press. HE the Minister thanked the schools for their efforts this year, which had an impact in achieving a clear improvement in results compared with the last academic year. He expressed his appreciation to all the good efforts made by all parties to the educational process, stressing the impact of such bona fide efforts to develop the educational process in the State of Qatar in general. The success rate for this year is 79.71% in the scientific section, compared with 80.25% in the last year, 74.72% in the Liberal Arts (Mathematics and Science) compared with 70.18% in the last year, 77.20% in the Literature section (French) compared with 74.66% last year. Religious section (Art) obtained 66.27% compared with 67.53% in the last year while 49.52% came in for business compared with 40% last year. At least 5891 students sat for the exams this year including 1549 from the scientific section, 3832 in Art (Mathematics and Science) section, 320 Art (French) section, 85 and 105 students for religious and business studies respectively. |
