A delegation from the Council of Independent Schools (CIS) met with a number of officials from the Higher Education Council to discuss issues related to study requirements, programs, services and conditions for admissions to the various institutions within the CIS.

Officials from some of the colleges on the HEI scholarship list met with the Director of the Advising & Career Development Center, Mrs. Fawziya Al Neema and other officials at the Center, in addition to officials in charge of USA Scholarship program. Universities’ representatives responded to queries by Institute officials, which mainly focused around Qatari students currently studying at some of these universities.

The unlisted universities delegation met with Mrs. Hessa Al-Aali, who was sitting in for Acting Director of the HEI, along with Mr. Ahmad Ibrahim Al Janahi, Director of Institutional Standards Office with the aim of familiarizing themselves with the criteria and standards required by HEI to introduce their study programs.

The universities’ delegation of CIS includes 22 American & European universities, seven of which are on the Higher Education Institute’s scholarship list. The unlisted universities include 15 American, French, Swiss, and German Universities.

The delegation also visited the American School of Doha, Al-Bayan Educational Complex for Girls and Doha Secondary Independent School.

The Council of Independent School (CIS) is a non-profit institution dedicated to international education and responsible for crediting schools and developing the best practices in the education sector. The Council currently includes 500 schools and 400 universities and colleges. The main objective of the Council is to achieve the best standards and criteria in international education and improving students’ productivity in a constant manner.
