EED Awards Criteria to be Announced Soon

The Education Excellence Day (EED) Awards criteria will be announced next week. The Education Excellence Day awards ceremony held annually under the patronage of HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, recognize the high achievements of students, teachers, schools and researchers in the State of Qatar and publicly celebrates their accomplishments. The main objectives of the EED is:

1. To honor and celebrate the success of Qataris who show academic excellence
2. To promote and encourage excellence among all people and organizations
3. To support positive initiatives in knowledge and scientific research
4. To encourage innovation amongst students, researchers and educational organizations

To encourage competition amongst individuals and institutions in educational excellence Awards are presented in a variety of categories, honoring the valuable contributions being made to the country as it continues to develop a strong knowledge-based society. This year, the awards ceremony will be held in November, 2008.
