Minister, Assistant director receive Abu Baker School delegation

Minister of Education meets Abu Baker School delegation
H E Sheikha Ahmed Al-Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council received at her office a delegation from Abu Baker Preparatory Independent School for Boys, which was recently presented with the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for “Distinguished School for the Year 2007-08”.

The Minister welcomed the student delegation and felicitated the school on winning the award and students in turn briefed Her Excellency on the academic, non-academic and extracurricular activities and programs at the school.

His Excellency discussed with the students about the practical aspects of the educational process and teaching at the school and also enquired from them why they thought Abu Baker was honored from their point of view.

The visit was organized under the supervision of Mr. Talal Al Mutawa, media and public relations officer Mr. Ahmad Judat, coordinator of learning difficulties and students: Abdul Rahman Al Mutawa, Salman Yusuf, Abdul Aziz Al Janahi, Nasser Ali Haji, Yusuf Fakhroo, Shihab Khalil Al-Shihabi and Khalifa Al Harqan.

Assistant director meets with Abu Baker students
Dr. Hamda Al-Sulaiti, the assistant director of the Evaluation Institute director received at her office a parliament delegation from Abu Baker Aseedeq Primary/Preparatory Independent School for Boys. The hour-long meeting shed light on the school's parliament roles and activities, in the addition to exchanging views on the learning process in the Independent schools, specifically the Qatar Comprehensive Educational Assessment (QCEA) tests.

Dr. Al-Sulaiti congratulated delegation for winning the prestigious Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award of “Distinguished School for the Year 2007-08,”a reflection of the high level of learning in the Independent schools and their ability to compete for prestigious awards locally and regionally. She also explained to students the importance of educational assessment tests in determining the overall level of the student.

The delegation explained the big role the school parliament plays in creating awareness of the importance of these tests and encouraging the students to participate in the tests seriously.

The delegation comprised Abdul Rahman Al Mutawa, Chairman of school parliament and the members, Omar Al Mutawa, Yousef Fakhroo, Nasser Al-Hajji, Shihab Al-Shihabi, Saied Al Khayarin, Abdul Aziz Al Janahi, and supported by other students: Jassim Fakhroo, Nasr al-Nasr. Ms. Amal Yakoub Hamad, coordinator for school family relations and Mr. Ahmed Hamdan, the learning sources coordinator accompanied the team.
