Recruitment for Cohort VI Independent school operators begins

The Supreme Education Council’s Education Institute will soon begin accepting applications for licenses to operate the sixth cohort of Independent schools which begin operation in the academic year 2009-2010. In this regard, the Education Institute invites all nationals who possess the educational experience and competence, have the motivation and desire to operate and manage an Independent schools to apply for a license to operate an Independent school. The deadline for receipt of applications is August 28, 2008.

The main requirements for application are the applicants should be Qatari, should have obtained a minimum of a university degree, have the practical experience and associated achievements in administrative and educational field. The candidate should also be prepared to manage the school on a full-time basis.

The first cohort of Independent Schools comprising 18 schools began operation in the academic year 2004-2005. With the opening of more Independent schools each year, the total number of schools has reached 88 in all stage levels so far.
