The Advising and Career Development Office recently organized an information session for Qatari students aimed at preparing students psychologically, academically and socially before their departure to live and study in the United Kingdom.

Ms. Joan Gendreton and scholarship recipient Ms. Al Anood Ahmed Al Mohanadi gave a presentation on behalf of the University of Leeds and Kent. Ms. Al Anood Ahmed Al Mohanadi successfully received a scholarship to study Political & International Relations at the University of Kent after successfully completing the Foundation year.

Thirty male and female Qatari students who applied to obtain scholarships to study in universities in the UK attended the info session.

The lecture also included information on how to prepare in advance for travel (passport, access, money, health certificate, other requirements), important documents to carry at all times, accommodation, entertainment sites, and the need to attend the “Orientation Week” among others.

During the lecture, Al-Anood AlMohanadi explained her personal experience and how to deal with the cultural shock and how to be successfully in studies.
