An official from the Supreme Education Council has said that 431 employees from the former Ministry of Education and Higher education (grades II, III & IV) have been promoted to the next grade and increased their salaries by 10 per cent.

The Evaluation Institute of the Supreme Education Council has sent out a circular to all the independent secondary schools containing the schedule for the second round (supplementary) of the Qatar Secondary School Certificate (QSSC) exams to be administered from July 18, 2010.

HE Mr. Saad Bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education and the Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) announced early Thursday, July 1, 2010 the results of the Qatar Secondary School Certificate taken by grade 12 students of the independent schools. HE Al Mahmoud said that this years results revealed a number of positive features compared with previous years particularly with regard to the number of students who have achieved high scores in all the subjects.

HE Mr. Saad Bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud the Minister of Education and Higher Education met in his office today HE the Canadian Minister of Education of the Government of Newfoundland and his undersecretary where discussions focused around bilateral and educational issues between both countries. The Canadian Minister expressed admiration over the development in the country, especially in the field of education.

The Supreme Education Council (SEC) has announced that the last day of submitting applications for the enrolling in the Bachelor of Primary Education program at the Faculty of Education at Qatar University is July 8, 2010.

HE Mr. Saad Bin Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) recently toured the Qatar Comprehensive Educational Assessment (QCEA) scoring center situated in the College of Technology North Madinat Khalifa to view the test scoring procedures, which began in June 2010.

The Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council, Saad Bin Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud inaugurated the 2nd Annual National Student Research Fair for Preparatory and Secondary Independent Schools at the Four Seasons Hotel on Monday, June 7, 2010. The two-day fair that began yesterday exhibited a remarkable ninety researches from 35 schools with 250 students, a significant increase of participants compared to the previous year.

All independent schools for boys will accept registration for expatriate children in grade 1 to 6 from June 6 and tomorrow June 7 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.

The Education Institute of the Supreme Education Council is conducting the 2nd Annual Student Research Fair under the patronage of H.E. the Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the SEC, Saad Bin Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud at the Four Seasons Hotel on June 6 and 7, 2010.

The Higher Education institute (HEI) will hold its annual Open House on June 14th & 15th, 2010 in Al-Mirqab Hall at the Four Seasons Hotel. The Open House aims to inform students and their parents about the different scholarship programs and the procedures for applying for higher education scholarships.
