HE Saad Bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, the Minister of Education attended a debate held on Thursday, February 18, 2010 between Qatar and Singapore at Abu Bakr Independent School for Boys. The debate was part of the World Schools Debating Championships held in Doha between February 9-18, 2010. The debate revolved around women rights and giving women quotas in parliament. As part of its collaborations with K-12 schools in Qatar, Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) is conducting workshops for teachers aimed at enabling teachers to implement iEARN projects and collaborate online with members of the iEARN.org web platform as well as developing teachers’ knowledge about project based learning (PBL) pedagogy and project planning. The workshops will be conducted during the month of March and the registration deadline is March 2, 2010.

Nearly 6708 students from general and specialized secondary schools begin the final tests of the first term on Thursday, January 21, 2010. The exams will be conducted at 25 testing centers – 14 for girls and 11 for boys.
