COMMUNITY COLLEGE OPEN UNTIL AUGUST 18TH FOR SELECTED FULL TIME STUDENTS

Opportunity Available To Join Military Colleges

An official source at the Evaluation Institute assured students sitting for the second round of the Secondary School Certificate examination for independent and semi- independent schools  that the opportunity is still available for them to join military colleges, saying that the EVI has sent letters to all military colleges in Qatar requesting an extension of the acceptance period until 20 / 8 / 2010 thus enabling them to apply after the announcement of their results.

Registration For Grade 12 Students In Parallel Education Program

The Supreme Education Council has begun for the first time the implementation of parallel education program under the independent schooling system. The Education Institute has announced the beginning of registration for Grade 12 students in parallel education (home schooling) program for the academic year 2010/2011 from July 20th -26th 2010. Registration is restricted to Qatari students, Gulf states students and students with Qatari mothers. Registration will take course in all secondary schools during official working hours.

Community College of Qatar invites first 300 students to register for fall semester

The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) has announced that all students applying for entry to CCQ will receive notification of their status by SMS during the week starting July 18, 2010. The first three hundred full-time students will receive invitations by SMS and email to register for the fall semester. CCQ students will be required to submit an original Qatar ID, official high school diploma/certificate and a health certificate to the Information Center, first floor, SEC building, Al Dafna to begin their registration process.

Institute completes training for attestation committees

The Evaluation Institute of the Supreme Education Council recently completed advanced training on the principles and requirements for accreditation of teacher portfolios for 126 members of the Schools Attestation Committees. The training targeted Cohort I to VI operators, directors, academic vice principals, and coordinators in secondary, preparatory, and primary and model independent schools.

Minister of Education meets top achieving students in QSSC


HE Mr. Saad Bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Education Council received in his office on Sunday, July 4, 2010, students who scored the highest marks in the Qatar Secondary Schools Certificate (QSSC)examinations and the 13 students who received the highest scores in Islamic education, Arabic, English and social sciences, mathematics, chemistry, physics and biology.

Community College of Qatar to reopen student placement tests in September

The Community College of Qatar will reopen student registration for the ACT Compass Placement Test in September. Testing times will be scheduled every week for students interested in attending CCQ. All test times for this summer are full and students who wish to retake the test can do so one month from the most recent test taken.

Committed to providing a comprehensive and inclusive education that meets the needs of all students and provides them with the highest quality of learning experiences, the Education Institute of the Supreme Education Council has issued a set of policies and guidance documents for schools in order for them to meet their responsibilities for students with Additional Educational Support Needs (AESN). The term AESN includes students with Learning Problems (SWLP), students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SWSLD) and students with Disabilities (SWD) and students with behavioral problems (SWBP)

The SEC and QCB to establish School of Commerce


Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) HE Saad bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud and Qatar Central Bank (QCB) Governor HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al Thani today signed an operating agreement to establish an Independent School of Commerce. The School will provide business and financial sector training as part of an educational curriculum that is dedicated to grooming candidates to take on purposeful roles in the country’s financial sector.
