HE Mr. Saad Bin Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council headed high official educational delegation comprising HE Mr. Mohammed bin Rabia Al Kaabi and a number of experts and consultants to participate in the third session of the World Education Forum and Exhibition of Educational Facilities being held in Dubai from February 23 - 25, 2010. The meeting includes a number of Ministers of Education in the Gulf and Arab countries and a group of education experts and major technology companies and institutes of global education

Today Wednesday Supreme Education Council Evaluation Institute will announce results of final first term examinations of Qatar Secondary School Certificate after being approved by H.E. Saad Bin Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education, Secretary General of Supreme Education Council. It has been informed that the results will be published in special website : WWW.SEC-NATEEJA.GOV.QA after being approved immediately in addition to (sms) messages to the SUBSCRIBERS. All local news papers will be provided with the results to be published in the next day. Evaluation Institute confirms that the results conforms with the expectations.

HE Mr. Saad Bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council met with HE Mohammed bin Nasser Al Wahaibi, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the State of Qatar on Wednesday, February 3, 2010.

HE Saad Bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the SEC met Hakki Emre Yunt, the Turkish ambassador to Qatar. Talks dealt with bilateral relations and means of enhancing the education sector in both countries.

HE Saad bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, the Minister of Education has returned to Doha after visit to Singapore to analyze the Singaporean education system.

The Policy Analysis and Research in the Supreme Education Council (SEC) hosted seminar on Monday, January 25, 2010 at the Four Seasons hotel to mark the establishment of a consultative forum with stakeholders to develop a strategic plan for the establishment of national competency standards for technical education.

The Evaluation Institute of the Supreme Education Council has released the first of three studies discussing factors that affect educational outcomes for students in independent, former Ministry of Education and private Arabic schools in Qatar. The research study drew on data available through routine collections from 2005-06, 2006-07 and 2007-08 academic years.

The Evaluation Institute delivered timetables for the first semester exams for the academic year 2009-2010 to principals of all secondary, preparatory and primary independent, semi-independent, and private Arabic schools. Religious institutions, business and evening schools also received similar timetables.

The Supreme Education Council (SEC) has announced a package of new financial procedures, including the completion of the first phase of documentation of data and information on the staff working in the independent schools, and entering of these data into the SEC database.
