School Mission

Our school mission is to be one of the highest achieving model schools in Qatar where students aged 4–11 years old are recognized as active learners, eager and curious scholars filled with spontaneous interest to learning, creating and experimenting and acquiring the knowledge and skills to be successful and prepared to live, learn and work in a globally competitive society. Students completing their courses of study will be able to enter and succeed in the best secondary schools in the State of Qatar. In addition to meeting and exceeding the requirements of the Education Institute, the goal of the school is to seek external international accreditation.

In partnership with families and the community, the school's mission is to educate and develop the WHOLE CHILD in her pursuit of excellence in academic knowledge, skills and behaviour, by building confidence in her ability to achieve. Our goal is to create lifelong learners, who are responsible and productive citizens of Qatari society with its religion and culture, and of the world at large. As part of an education dedicated to the whole child, the school will also emphasize the social, emotional and physical growth of the child by providing extra curricular activities in a wide range of interests.

The purpose of this school is to give students knowledge of and appreciation for their Qatari, Arabic, and Islamic heritage and to prepare them to live in a rapidly changing multicultural world.

Socialization and school readiness are the main emphases of our Pre-K program while our Kindergarten program places great emphasis on beginner reading, science and mathematics skills as well as on an age-appropriate curriculum for Islamic and Social Studies. The school will go to great lengths to provide all necessary instructional and support staff, as well as any materials required to ensure the readiness of our students for 1st grade.

The school will offer an academic program, which places emphasis on the development of reading, language arts, and math skills in the primary grades. These skills are reinforced with the teaching of math, language arts, social studies and science, which all students receive. Also, at the primary level, students receive instruction in the use of the computer, art, library science, health and physical education.

The school proposed is a bilingual elementary school for girls wherein excellence in oral and written communication in both Arabic and English will be stressed. The curriculum would be divided between English and Arabic as the medium of instruction. The subjects of Arabic Language and Literature, Social Studies, and Islamic education instruction would be in Arabic. The subjects of English Language and Literature, Mathematics, and Science are in English. It is worth mentioning that the language policy calls for smart use of English as a language of instruction as the goal is to form students with skills that will enable them to take advantage of English resources and to widen their horizons with research and education. Arts will be taught in both languages. Special attention will be given to instruction devoted to character development in order to lay the foundation for future citizens who possess high moral principles and values.

The board will be monitoring the school’s progress towards meeting the yearly-established goals.

Our school will employ female administrators, teachers and support staff. It shall be the policy of the school to recruit, select, and employ the best-qualified personnel.

The school provides opportunities for involving parents and guardians as active partners in achieving school improvement and education accountability. It places a great deal of importance on the role of the parents and guardians in the process of achieving a successful educational program for their children. The school hopes to become a community center for Al Khor by offering evening English classes, experimental gardening classes and the construction and use of a community swimming pool.

The school will utilize its school website to provide the community at large with the most current information possible about the school and upcoming events, field trips, fundraising opportunities, employment opportunities.
