Educational Plan

Our Vision
Our school, Al Markhyia Independent Primary Girls School is an educational pioneer that actively prepares citizens who are globally aware.

Our Mission
Our school is an independent girls’ school for primary grades. Its philosophy is based upon the fact that children have the natural abilities and desire to learn, and because the early learning stages are crucial in shaping the students cognitively, physically, and psychologically, we will develop the students in a balanced and comprehensive manner in all aspects.

The school will do its very best to provide an enjoyable and motivating environment; one where acquisition is transformed into practical and meaningful behavior through independent and progressive learning, exploration, critical thinking, and problem solving. Consequently, our students will represent a generation capable of change, development, and holding responsibility.

This is in addition to being positive, tolerant, and able to understand other cultures. Equally important, the school will work to the fullest in order to elevate student performance and excellence through encouraging self-confidence and individual learning programs. Special attention is given to outstanding/gifted students to prove them as innovative leaders. Also, special care is given, through qualified teachers, to special needs’ students and for students with learning difficulties.

The school, furthermore, will use the British national curriculum to teach Math, Science, and English. Arabic will be taught through a curriculum according to the Education Institute’s standards. Islamic and Social studies will have a balanced/comprehensive curriculum to stress the values, ethics, and morals of Islam and the tradition of Qatar and the gulf region.

IT will be used as a vital instrument in individual/independent learning. IT will be a separate subject, as will health/environment and art/handcrafts. Our school will have a classroom environment that is rich in resources, IT, and experience. The classroom environment will utilize an open-education style with flexibility in groups and individual learning, and in communicative education methods and techniques.

Extracurricular activities will be conducted to discover and develop students’ talents, hobbies, and tendencies. We believe that local community and parents’ participation, both moral and material, in school activities and boards is very important.

The school, moreover, will distinctively provide services such as health, social, and psychological care. This will be accomplished through a resident doctor, psychologist, and sociologist. Additional services will include libraries, labs, arenas, a small museum, and an eco-lab for the plants of Qatar.

We will have an encouraging employment system that attracts, through various incentives, qualified personnel (Qatari and others) so we constantly have the best administration and staff to achieve our goals.

Finally, we are committed to maintaining high quality standards through constant assessment (internal/external) and through professional development programs, thus providing educational services of excellence.

Educational Goals
The school seeks to achieve goals, which will prepare the students to be successful in their studies at our school and the future. The desired goals are the following:

  • To implant the values of self-esteem and respecting others; this should be instilled through student/teacher interaction and conduct. Such ethics will eventually become habitual for students to feel and practice in their lives.
  • To teach the students the importance of time-management in order to utilize it wisely in which they will benefit presently and in the future.
  • The utilization of the curricula and student-teacher interaction to show the students the value of human rights such as the freedom of expression, freedom of thought, and the right of ownership.
  • To stress the need for international understanding along side world peace. Naturally, this is done through regular studies and extra curricular activities.
  • The utilization of daily interaction, various activities, and the curricula to prepare the students, physically, socially, and psychologically.
  • To fully qualify the students in all subjects, especially Arabic, English, math, and science according to the SEC’s standards. This can be accomplished though choosing and implementing the proper curricula, teaching methods/techniques, and services under the guidance of Education and Evaluation Institutes.
  • To raise students who are orderly and environmentally conscious; the curricula and extra-curricula activities will be used to instill such values and habits.
  • To develop the students’ talents according to their capabilities through unique instruction, different activities, and continual follow-up.
  • To benefit from instruction time, the curricula, and extra-curricular activities to raise students who are citizens with religious and social values and morals.
  • To encourage the students to explore and participate in scientific research, innovation, individual learning, and creativity by providing them with educational tools and equipment alongside the facilitation and guidance of qualified teachers. Consequently, the students will be accustomed to such values and skills that will enrich their future.
  • To provide proper care and instruction through human resources, devices, and equipment in order to develop the abilities and talents of special-needs’ students.
  • To train students in teamwork, decision-making and independent thinking via the curricula, education techniques/methods, and interaction, so this will become a part of their conduct presently and in the future.
