School Mission
Our school mission is to enable our girls to participate effectively in the rapidly changing social and economic life of Qatar and the wider world.
The girls will be independent and creative learners in the key subject areas at the school through innovative teaching approaches and by providing learning opportunities.
The broad purpose of the school is to provide the opportunity, programs, and conditions for all girls to reach their academic, personal, social, technological, and practical goals.
As a result, these girls will become self-reliant, independent, confident, brave, inventive, creative, and ready to join the international mainstream of women power.
The school will be distinctive in developing girls’ leadership qualities, a sense of identity, personal responsibility and initiative. They will become confident and responsible users of information & communication technology (ICT) across the curriculum and for lifelong learning. The school aims to provide an open, healthy and conducive environment to equip girls with a variety of skills to enable them to solve their problems creatively and effectively communicating with others and making decisions of importance.

By the end of grade 6, our overarching goals for all girls are to:
* Value, promote, and demonstrate peaceful relationships on a personal, local, and international level;
* Promote a desire for international friendship, social equity, fair play and justice;
* Demonstrate tolerance and acceptance of diversity in faiths, creeds, religions, races, languages;
* Learn strategies for lifelong enquiry, independence, initiative and adaptability;
* Understand the traditions of Islam and the associated values and beliefs;
* Learn, practice, and value how to resolve conflicts;
* Develop strategies and optimism to strive for success in facing challenges and change in their life.
In summary, our school's overarching goal is to provide a balanced and broad education to enable girls to become effective and satisfied with their changing roles in the family life, in work life, and in the wider community.
The school vision and aims have been encapsulated in a concise statement as follows:
At Al Salam school we seek to build a continually learning, responsible generation that has a spirit of initiative and self-independence. We desire that this generation thinks creatively in ways that will be useful for itself and society; that it is open to other cultures and takes benefits from them whilst actively maintaining its own identity and values.

This Mission Statement will be present all around the school and on all official school documents. This Mission Statement will be used as the basis of recruitment, marketing and policy development.

Educational Goals
Adopting a standardized and well-balanced graded curriculum encompassing math, science, Social Studies, IT, English, Arabic, Religion, Arts/Technology, and Physical Education shall help attain these outcomes. The school will assess and ensure the development of the whole child - academic, emotional, behavioral, physical, spiritual and social.
We intend to:

  • Provide curriculum that is intellectually stimulating enabling critical thinking and creative expression;
  • Ensure the creation of appropriate schemes of work linked to Curriculum standards;
  • Ensure the development of curriculum plans for each core subject;
  • Provide an ICT rich environment
  • Develop within our students strategies for life long learning
The Qatar Curriculum Standards will be used to develop the curriculum in the core subjects – English, mathematics, science and Arabic. The Ministry of Education (MoE) curriculum will be used in the teaching of Islamic studies and the MoE textbooks will be used in the teaching of Social Studies. Curriculums from other countries may be used as resource documents only with all subject curriculums to be developed as school based documents over the first three years.
