School Mission
At a time when boys often feel bound by their schools; body and soul, by the environment, materials and equipment, and an institutional system of rewards and punishments, where they are kept silent and still, and where education equals ‘the mechanical filling of a child’s mind with the contents of the syllabus, the Montessori method of teaching children, renowned for educational excellence, both in academic learning and individual development while accenting the value and diversity of student life, is as pertinent today as it was a century ago.

The key aspect of this educational approach is the enduring belief in the immeasurable worth of each individual and nurturing the child to recognise their unique contribution to a good society. To this end, the school, for boys from Kindergarten to Grade 6, will:

  • Provide and build an jovial environment and atmosphere, combined with teaching excellence
  • Align the school curriculum with that of the SEC curriculum standards
  • Integrate the national curricula with:
    • UK for English, Mathematics, Science, Geography, ICT, PSHE, PE, Art, Design and Technology
    • UK objectives for History, amended to be appropriate for Qatari society
    • Arabian for Arabic
    • Qatar for Religion
  • Combine these courses with constant interaction in community programmes and cultural groups, parents and families, to ensure that students appreciate the practical value of theoretical lessons, and to recognize their value and use, out of the educational environment.
  • Tap into the boys abundant energy, imagination and love of learning and channel this through an inspiring academic programme which provides:
    • Equipment and resources to compel students to manipulate, investigate, imagine and discover
    • An encouraged a sense of self-worth
    • A developed critical thinking ability
    • An increased confidence in self-expression
    • An enhanced awareness of Qatari heritage, culture and religion and an understanding of humanity

These essential life-skills will provide the boys with a strong foundation for continued education at any of the schools in Qatar, overseas, and throughout their lives.

    Educational Goals
Aligned with the SEC curriculum standards, the Montessori school will combine the UK curriculum resources for English, maths, science, Geography, Art, Design & Technology, ICT, PE and PSHE and the Arabian curriculum objectives for Arabic, and Qatari curriculum for Religion. These curricula were assessed according to the predicted needs of our students, teaching approach and adaptability to Qatari society, culture, heritage and religion. The history curriculum will be based on the Qatari curriculum objectives criteria, and Qatari senior staff will collaborate with Qatar University professors and the Supreme Council for Culture & Heritage to create a syllabus that will meet the needs of the students, and fulfil academic criteria.
It is expected that this combination, delivered through the use of Montessori methodology, will raise academic standards within the school and adopt the curriculum standards provided by the SEC.

The school program will run according to the table, Subjects Offered for Primary Years 1 & 2. Classes taught in English to Year 3 & 4 students will benefit from the co-teachers language support provision. As the need arises, individual students will be encouraged to stay at school until 3:30pm daily, to receive additional support in their English-based subjects. This could be further extended to include Saturday mornings, pending parent approval. These options will be available for the first three years of the school's operation. Intensive English classes will also be included in the two-week orientation from August 15 - 30.

During the first two years, academic staff at the school will be working to adapt these curricula to completely meet all the requirements of students and the Supreme Education Council in the State of Qatar.
