ABAT:
Ali Bin Abi Taleb Independent Preparatory School for Boys is one of the oldest schools in Qatar. Many of the elite of the Qatari society graduated from the school and hold various positions in the State of Qatar. The name of the school has passed from one generation to another until it has reached a generation that believes in educational autonomy. Hence the school was part of the fifth cohort of independent schools which were established by the direction of His Highness, The Prince of the State, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani.

The school had its first school day as an independent school on September 7th, 2008. The school year started in the old building and continued there until the end of the first Academic term, and on February 8th, 2009, the beginning of the second Academic term, the school began operating in the new building in Rawdat Almatar Area. The operator and principal is Mr. Fahad Ahmed Almuslamani.

The School Mission:
As a record of the efforts towards achieving the vision of ABAT, we are documenting the following:

  • The effective communication between the school society and the surrounding environment.
  • The effective participation and the quick response towards the changes required to develop an advanced educational institution.
  • The teaching of students to respect themselves and others.
  • The attention paid to the environment, both within the school and beyond.
  • The teaching of technology and its application in daily life
  • The balance developed between the integrity of individual subject curriculums and the integration of all.

Society as a whole benefits when a school community interacts positively with the surrounding community. This has occurred at ABAT. As a result a positive national personality is being created and this is necessary, in any educational institution, to avoid dissociation in the learners' mind.

The School Vision:
The school pays great attention to providing an effective educational environment in order to produce the following in its students:

  • To make them proud, self-confident and to respect others at the same time.
  • To support their development through providing a safe and positive environment.
  • To qualify and prepare them to meet the requirements of the next stage.

The School Objectives:

  • To develop the learner's personality: psychologically, physically and mentally.
  • To pay great attention to the student's environment and traditions.
  • To prepare students for practical life and to deal effectively and positively with the nature of this era.
  • To raise the level of students' creative thinking.
  • To participate effectively between the school community and the outer society.
  • To create and activate the spirit of teamwork and group work.
  • To reinforce the value of homeland and the national, Arab and gulf spirit.
  • To consolidate the students' educational values and supreme value: justice, goodness and beauty.
  • To set special curricula that meets the curriculum standards of the SEC.
  • Paying attention to the students’ health care.
  • Enabling the students to speak Arabic correctly, the language of Arabs and the Qur’an.
  • Paying great attention to useful and effective activities.
  • Forming groups in each department that participate forming the students' personality such as “Knowledge Makers" and “The Small Parliament".
  • Paying attention to technology in teaching and learning.
  • Enforcing and strengthening religious scruples through forming an effective, positive and Islamic character that aims at security, peace, righteousness and justice.
  • Paying attention to the talented students athletically, supporting and promoting their participation in national events.
  • Paying attention to the future sciences: Mathematics, Science, and English.
  • Developing the students' various skills of reading, writing, researching and speaking fluently.
  • Respecting others’ opinions through effective and cultural seminars.
  • Developing generations that look gloriously at Islam.
  • Paying attention to traditional and free poetry in addition to the art of short story and plays as international patterns.

Operator and Principal
Mr. Fahad Ahmed Almuslamani
He is the operator and principal of the school. He graduated from the Faculty of Education in 1987 and held various educational and administrative positions in the Ministry of Education, working as a teacher for 16 years, then holding administrative positions. He worked as a Deputy of Alrazy Preparatory School and after that he held the position of Deputy of Khalifa Secondary School. He participated in the initial stages of the development of educational reform in Qatar, notably as V.P. for one of the Secondary Independent Schools.
