Educational Plan

School Mission
Al Israa Independent Primary Girls School is committed to providing lower elementary school girls aged 6-11 with a quality education that will prepare them to be life long learners, critical thinkers, responsible decision makers, and effective, involved, moral Qatari citizens. Through teacher instruction, parental involvement in school and independent learning activities such as learning through projects and hands-on experiences, students will acquire and apply information and a variety of skills. High expectation for student achievement is a primary goal at Al Israa School. We concentrate our efforts on helping students to strengthen their reading, writing, math, and technology skills. Together, we work to promote a productive school environment for all our students.

Vision
Our vision is to achieve an educational excellence and the highest level of student learning, and, thereby, the opportunity for every Al-Israa Independent Primary Girls School student to be successful in a global economy and a contributing citizen in the society.

Educational Goals
Competition between Independent Schools will create a force for change. We will be prepared to face these challenges by achieving the following educational goals:

  • Preserve our Qatari and Islamic identity and culture pride: Develop students’ pride in their nationality, religion, and culture, with respect and understanding for others cultures.
  • Implement best practices in standards: Align curriculum, instruction, and assessment to Qatar standards of learning in order to continuously improve the achievement of all students.
  • Offer students and families a world of educational opportunities: Implement diversity of high-quality programs, services, and other options to ensure that the school is able to meet the unique educational needs for every student. All students will be able to choose from a wide list of extra-curricular activities either during the school hours (electives), or after school hours (after-school enrichment).
  • Hold ourselves accountable for continuous improvement: Develop, implement, and refine an accountability plan that holds everyone involved in school education responsible for results. Develop an accountability framework that encourages educators to focus on student needs and research-based best practices. Develop and disseminate reports on school, programs, and administration performance. All school elements (students, parents, teachers…etc) will be evaluated with the purpose of development and progress using varied input tools.
  • Partner with families: Working together, we will increase the percentage of family members actively engaged in helping students learn to high standards.
  • Partner with the community: Actively involve students in community service while preparing them to be responsible citizens in the society. Also bring educators and community members together to provide a dynamic and collaborative learning experience for the school.
  • Support leadership and professional growth: Expand and improve leadership and professional development programs to engage all staff in high-quality opportunities for growth that are sustained, intensive, and collaborative. We will define standards for professional performance and promote school-based professional development to help all staff meet and exceed standards.

We believe that these goals will:
  • Prepare students for continuing education opportunities.
  • Prepare students to think critically and communicate effectively.
  • Enable students to evaluate their abilities and interests and develop an accurate self-concept in a safe, caring and supportive atmosphere.
  • Prepare students to make decisions on a logical basis in order to function as informed citizens.
  • Prepare students for effective, involved citizenship on the community, national or world level.
  • Prepare students for moral leadership in their homes and communities.
  • Enable students to be tolerant of others’ views and to recognize the importance of others’ rights and property.
