The Educational Vouchers Program will be
implemented in several phases:

Year 1 (2008-2009):
The Educational Vouchers Program was introduced by the SEC in
September 2008. Year 1 offered an opportunity to establish the
administration procedures for the program. During this year,
program mechanisms were created and assessed. Three private
schools joined the program and a group of students were
included. These students represent some of those for whom the
Education Institute will have direct responsibility for
funding in future years.

Year 2 (2009-2010):
In Year 2 of the Educational Vouchers Program, the SEC
continued to develop the administration procedures and improve
the administrative structures established during the first
year. The program incorporated a group of new private schools
that met high standards of excellence and included an
additional group of students. The SEC created the application
process for schools.

Year 3 (2010-2011):
In Year 3, the Educational Vouchers Program will include
additional private schools that are eligible and places for a
wider range of Qatari students. As a result of feed back from
parents and schools involved in the program in Years 1 and 2,
the program’s policies and procedures will be further
streamlined.
